I have been speaking and using my Light Language for almost 3 years. It pours like poetry from my mouth, projecting from throat, heart and solar plexus chakras all at the same time. When this flows, I can see the vibrations coalesce and feel the density of matter shift. Pretty damn cool!
Its incredible and beautiful and something altogether outside of me. And in fact, very little is known about it, yet Light Language is beginning to appear everywhere! It's called Angel Language, the Language of Light, or any other moniker you wanna toss on it. It is an ancient language, spoken by many, that contains activations, packets of information and healing, that re-awaken forgotten memories and restore global frequencies.
Shamans and sages throughout the ages have used Light Languages to bless and heal their people. The languages vary greatly sounding different and containing unique pauses, clicks and combinations of sounds. From one region to the next and one healer to another, I've never heard two that sound the same. No one quite knows how to explain how and where this language comes from, but for me, it feels like something that was waiting within me my whole life. When spoken, energy shifts, pain lessens, and the light in the room grows brighter. I can feel it, even though I am unable to transcribe what is being said. The lack of meaning makes it more powerful, surpassing thought and form to deliver pure messages and intent. When using Light Language, I am able to accomplish healing and release energy beyond this space and time. Nothing I've encountered is more beneficial and immediate in its relief offered.

I consider myself a woman of great faith, devotion to God and a dedication to my spiritual path are among those things most sacred to me. What I do comes from God, I deliver His messages in honor and integrity and feel myself to be a conduit of His Divine Light. Faith is a deeply personal journey and one that should never be taken lightly. I respect all paths and honor each person's mission to cultivate this most necessary relationship with the Divine. I work in a largely Christian community and while clients may be interested in seeing me, some feel it is a challenge to their current beliefs. I don't ever find this to be the case.... having a psychic reading and loving Jesus are in no way at odds! I believe in a faith that allows us to have a direct relationship with God... prayer, meditation and service are all ways we can be in this direct communion.
I had this same conversation with a client who had contemplated calling me for over a year. Susan (shared with her permission) came in last month for her 2nd reading! I asked if she would talk about how her experience and concerns had played out. I found her words helpful and am grateful she allowed me to share it. Healers working in integrity can bring great clarity and peace of mind. It is never a substitute for medical or psychiatric care, nor even good common sense. I have been a full on medium and intuitive most of my life, but it was only 2 summers ago that I incorporated the tarot into my psychic tool box. I enjoy it's rich imagery and find deeper meaning the more I use it. Some readings are just straight up tarot readings-- allowing the wisdom of the cards to be the only vehicle for messages to arrive-- while other times I will allow the messages to come in and the tarot to act as confirmation to what I'm receiving.
We will all have our own rhythm, story and relationship with the Tarot. It is a beneficial tool for personal insight and soul development. If you'd like to learn start with the traditional Rider Waite, it's the oldest deck and
contains the most potent archetypal imagery. Learn that and then branch
out into oracle decks and specialty decks as you'd like. (My favorite deck right now is the Isis Oracle ... it's so mega intense, I haven't yet seen, much less even studied, every card!) Here's how I learned the tarot: ~ Get a notebook just for tarot. Something pretty and cool (moleskin, rocks!) worked best for me so I was excited to use it. ~ Organize the deck into each suit, then by ascending order -- Ace, 2... to Queen and King ~ For each card, sit with it and write down your impressions (on one page
and leaving the facing page blank). Study the images, note your intuitions,
what the card evoked and very your first gut reactions. ~ On the second run, read the meaning of each card and write this on the opposite facing page. ~ Review your notebook and make friends with the card. Get to know each character. Every card carries their own story. Sit with each and try to reconcile what you felt initially and what the most common meaning is. I've found since I learned the tarot, the meanings
are highly personal and yet very archetypal. I don't like the King of
Swords - he's a dick - but still necessary in some cases. Sometimes my attention is drawn to a specific image on the card (I was playing with the Page of Pentacles during a reading last week and noticed my attention kept being drawn to his red hat. It turns out the person being discussed was recovering from brain tumors!) As in all our soul work, what it means to us is of most value.
If you'd like resources get some books, play online or find a local teacher. The Tarot Revealed by Eden Grey is awesome for it gives the alchemical and ancient meaning of each image on the card. I like to seep in the cards so if you dig all the juicy details, this book is a must!
Working with teachers is also of great support, but is never the only method upon which you want to rely. I've worked with 2 different teachers and both had completely different meanings for the cards. Both are highly respected readers in her own right, so their use of the tarot becomes an extension of her individual psychic gifts. However as a student, it only confused and frustrated me. I'm a bit of a rebel, so learning on my own proved the most satisfying. The cards will talk and give you another tool of connecting with
your own intuition. The characters and imagery play in the ancient places and inspire stories. Allow the cards to reveal themselves to you and share the story that gives you the guidance you seek.Most of all, sweet love, trust what's coming through! Allow the Tarot to be an amelioration of your own knowingness.
I've always been leery of gurus. Though I recognize this is an ancient system of conveying teachings, the idea creeps me out a bit. I don't want to be anyone's teacher. I want to be a guide, walking hand in hand for whatever adventures spirit has in store!
My own quest for a teacher left me confused and dis-empowered…
For the first part of my psychic career, I held myself back from the many inspirations, thoughts and teachings I was receiving from Spirit. It was in my first round of shamanic training that the teacher stressed we needed a mentor in the physical world, someone to guide and protect us, before any deep spiritual work could be undertaken. I was receiving visions and messages on a near daily basis but felt like I should ignore them. In fact, the first time I spontaneously did mediumship (hearing messages from a passed loved one), I went to this trusted shaman and was instructed stop what I was doing until a teacher came along.
I prayed I would find my teacher, believing I was unable to share the breadth of my gifts with the world until one did. I was left confused and felt compelled to dismiss the teachings my angels and guides were trying to give me. Everyone held this man in high regard so I trusted his input. To this day a teacher (in this world) has yet to appear….
When I met Ann Drucker, a friend and beloved guide in Boulder, she encouraged me instead to just "try and see what happened" if I followed the messages. This lil nudge of encouragement, yea permission, from someone I respected was all I needed. I began trying out, listening to and trusting the messages and I haven't looked back!
Over the years, I've been told in nearly every psychic and astrological reading I’ve received that my life path is to be a teacher. I recoiled at the idea given my own dismissive experiences with teachers and guru types. However in 2012, my Guides suggested I be a “mentor!” This word shifted the energy from “guru” to “equal,” and I was in.
Here's what I've observed with teachers and some things to be watchful of as you choose your path...
A mentor can walk and guide but does not hold herself higher than the mentoree.
When working in the spiritual and metaphysical realms, its difficult sometimes to find teachers who both teach and practice humility. The ego is so very ready to jump in and take credit. Find the one who recognizes the work is what is special and not the teacher.
Many teachers forget to teach! They may hold themselves in a position of power and believe they are giving the healing or responsible for the magic. Teachers get burned out this way and sometimes must step back from the work because they are doing rather than genuinely teaching their students. Teaching is a two way street and the work is ever expanding-- We learn from and teach to all the time. No one is ever a master and incapable of learning more!
The more we teach, the more we learn. Share everything and encourage others to do the same. Anytime you see a trademarked procedure or copyright, ask yourself if this is a genuine quest to protect the teaching (some things are not for the novice and need be protected in a way) or if its done from ego to credit the teacher and receive material gain.
It's easy when you experience something that feels magical, to attribute it to the teacher. This is never the case, it is always because of God/Spirit/Source and YOU. Anytime one tries to take credit, we must stop and acknowledge that we are simply a vehicle for the work or teaching.
Often when a teacher encounters a student with gifts greater than their own, they are unable to champion and encourage without envious inklings rising up in themselves. Look instead for the teacher who is in awe of your magnificence and only wishes to help it blossom in you.
When you work with people who are energetically open and vulnerable, it is paramount that ethics and boundaries are clearly respected. If anything makes you uncomfortable, speak your truth and a true teacher will hear honor and shift with you.
Be ok with walking away. We outgrow people and we outgrow teachers, this is a sign of outer own development and should be celebrated.
Ok, I don't know if this is a real word of the moment, but it will let me chat about our 12 strands of DNA, junk DNA, and cellular upgrades in any case!
Originally on this planet (think days of Atlantis and prior), we had 12 strands of DNA... We now have only two. This explains why even modern science says we only use a portion of our brain's actual capacity and ability. With just one-sixth of our original DNA, we are literally incapable of using our full potential until these strands are re-activated.
The so-called junk DNA is actually ancient potent cells that when put back together the right way (reactivated) can help us reclaim our fullest capacity of humanness.
Regardless of how far down this rabbit hole you choose to go, cellular healing helps us feel infinitely better. We are then able to be both fully functioning & fully conscious Beings: Wholey physical and spiritual, wholey thoughtful and compassionate, wholey kind and loving, and ever the best of human attributes we can be... It also helps us reclaim our psychic potential... But all that when YOU are ready!
Some resources may talk about this strand aberration as a defiling of the planet and Her people. So if you google, just know what you may be getting into....
The healing work performed by high-level healers are re-activating these strands and repairing you at the cellular level. When we do healing work, it is so the benefits are permanent and aid you in forever freeing yourself of old patterns and illnesses. You feel better because we are bringing back to you things you didn't even know to ask for!
I'm always hopeful I can find ways to bridge my world with that of the "everyone"... So here's the first of a new series attempting to explain what these kooky New Age words mean in easy to digest language.
Ascension is essentially the graduation of humanity. We have been glorified apes living, consuming and destroying the planet.... I say this with no political agenda or irksome fist throwin' simply stating bare bones... Our Ascension grants us a spiritual aspect that is now equal to that of our physical nature.
Some may say the Ascension allows us to leave Earth and explore galaxies beyond our own. My own belief is that Ascension puts us back on equal footing with the Ascended Masters (like Jesus, Buddha, Mother Mary) and our Angels. We become better than human by embracing our inherent spiritual nature and thereby evolving or graduating from our ape-ness.
This is what I have been grappling with as my love, yes LOVE, for Jesus comes in stronger and stronger.
So let me clear the air-- I was raised largely without religion, without a concept of dogma and church. We were raised in a loving home with a family who allowed us to pursue "religion" on our own terms. This seeming lack was a beautiful gift allowing my relationship to God and my innate curiosity to lead to me to MY path, not one that was prescribed nor one I was chastised for not keeping.
I explored Buddhism, Christianity, and Hinduism with equal zeal. Picking and choosing the aspects that made the most sense to me. I was as comfortable in a church as I was playing on the 2 acres of Louisiana swamp we called home-- feeling God in both locations equally! What I found was in nature, I could connect, feel and ponder without anyone I telling me I was wrong.
After a couple of years in a Baptist school in Baton Rouge and being punished (detention, scolding and calls home to parents) for not believing what I was told to believe, I found "religion" to be a degradation of what I felt in my own heart. I turned from organized religion and flitted my way into my own brand of spirituality.
So when Jesus came to me in 2005, asking that we have a conversation, I told him I wasn't one of "His" and he should look elsewhere. At that point in my burgeoning psychic career, I was receiving guidance from Angels, my own Spirit Guides and Teachers I wasn't savvy yet enough to identify who was who. Yet when Mary Magdalene showed up, bringing Jesus with her, it was my first experience working with Ascended Masters -- beneficent beings who are master teachers dedicated to enlightening humanity.
I told them both in fact to go away... sure that a heathen child such as myself couldn't possibly be who they were looking for. They both persisted, Mary providing information that she still insists will be a book and Jesus with a loving and gentle presence I have come to rely on.
Last year, my work with Him began to take on more of a mentorship as he began teaching me some of the more estoeric teachings of the Essene tradition. I can recall past lives I worked with him closely and find his guidance to be of the utmost benefit in my spiritual path. Going through grief of my own, I relied heavily on him... to the point of near co-dependence! Ha! In calling to him to soothe my grief, and protect my heart, I lost my own inner strength... I became dependent and needy.
I again asked him to step back, which he did with great respect, allowing me to return in my own time. The year since has been one of warrior like insights and healing work-- powerful, majestic and sword yielding as I overcame the grief of losing my Gram & my child within a month.
As a gentle wind, he appeared this spring, asking if our work could resume. He expressed his pride in my reclamation of my inner strength and suggested that he may simply augment rather than replace it. Wow-- this I was not prepared for! What Divine Love, patience, and grace he allowed me to find on my own as he gently allowed my journey to return to him.
It was then that I would hear myself exclaiming to clients: "Yes, but do you really know the real Jesus?!?" How could I temper my overjoyed experience with him without the gush of dogma rushing in? It is still a question I try and balance but I know him to be kind, generous, ever loving and so very wise.
Here's a bit of what he's taught me:
- He wishes to appear as hippie brother rather than dying man on a cross ("you know, like guy next to you at a Phish concert")
- He is funny as all heck and amazingly detached from "that thing that happened back there"
- He never takes himself too seriously, so we should all just relax a bit and let ego move aside
- Women are the teachers of faith... our connection to God/Goddess/Source
- There is no creation without the work of the Sacred Masculine and Divine Feminine, "without life form is empty." It is up to man to create form and forge reality and it is the gift of the women to breathe life into it to allow it a place on this earth.
- Jesus was a shaman! he was healer and worked with the invisible energies to benefit his community -- yup, I still want to make it a bumper sticker
- Death was meant to be a most joyous act, a celebratory return to God not one filled with fear and anxiety
- Those sincere souls wishing to find him should practice cultivating a personal relationship with him through meditation, prayer and even channeling, rather than seeking it in the Bible or church
I know him as Brother and am grateful for those moments he does gift me with. He appears often for clients in session and I try my best to represent him well. I love him like I do no other and feel lifted by him in every waking moment-- this is done by my choosing, and his grace, without the need for any church, book, or intermediary.

"We as healers are collectors of power." The first time I heard this, I was both offended and dismissive. I am an ethical and compassionate healer, kind to others, and humble in my role. As our instructor continued, she explained the wise native medicine men and women knew above all else, they were gathering powers. To claim anything less is naïve and dangerous. The world of spirit sees us as powerful beings and if we don’t respect the gifts we’ve learned, earned and collected, we are vulnerable to these skills being taken and mis-used by spirits seeing us as weak and easily manipulated.
This simple message truly rocked my world …and it took some time to accept and get used to. I am so grateful for contemporary teachers who bestow upon us the ancient wisdom we sorely miss and have forgotten in our modern society; Without the benefit of literally sitting in a rainforest amongst my tribe with a weathered master shaman, I may have missed this invaluable lesson!
I recognize in my work I must be powerful --powerful enough my people trust in my abilities and powerful enough the Spirits obey my commands. Spirits are by nature ...tricky! Without the benefit of a body, they are able to bend, travel and behave in ways we cannot. They can be many places at once; They can move through other dimensions, time and space; They can see and work in the invisible realms most of us have forgotten. Very cool indeed but also in need of a director, or a master, they trust.
Relationships with Spirit are both a matter of trust and an earned respect. I cannot call upon an Angel or Spirit Guide unless I have cultivated a relationship with the Being and proven myself pure of heart. Many times, unknown Beings will offer their services and it's then my due diligence to examine the character and intention of the Being offering said services. I don’t ask strangers for favors, in neither this physical realm nor the spiritual realm. To me, this is just basic protocol, and to do otherwise, would be fool-hearty.
What's required of me in order to earn respect of the Spirits is not only focus but a willingness to be powerful. The power I use is commanding. We must be able to "command" Spirits in order to accomplish what is required. Commanding is cooperative and creative, working WITH nature to effect change.
Many of us may confuse command and demand. Living in a demanding society, we are accustomed to the demands of others. This is a crucial point I wish to bring Light. "Demand" is forceful and implies a threat if the demand is not followed. A command on the other hand requires an act of faith, trusting the command will be carried out. A command has respect built in, whereas demands may take force or fear to execute. The fundamental difference is the co-creative nature of a command.
A command is not attached to an outcome nor does it involve ego. I command because I believe in the wholeness, the perfection, the DIVINITY of my clients. Energy simply needs to be moved. A command also carries intention: “I command the issue blocking my client from being happy leave!” This is in cooperation with a universe that is genuinely loving. A command simply tells the energy I mean business. And when asking Angels and Guides whom I have created relationships, my command is assuredly carried out.
As a natural healer, an energy worker --a shaman-- I must command energies in order to effect change on the physical level. I've done my work and created the necessary relationships with the Spirit World knowing energy will be moved in this physical world. If I don’t believe in what I am doing, neither will Spirit, nor will the energies of the body which make up the dis-ease. Commanding earns respect and assures we are returned to our natural state of harmony and balance: It is YOUR BODY who chooses to heal ...I only create the optimal environment for it to do so. A pretty dang cool trick when you think of it, but must be executed with pure intention and utmost respect.
Try your hand with commands and see if you can feel the difference. But start slow, tiger, and make sure ego is removed so you can truly flow in the co-creative process of commanding energy gorgeously and gracefully ...they way we were intended!
Any friends can tell you I am a fan of Tool. This may surprise folks who simply see Tool as a heavy metal band. They are in fact rock n roll shamans individually and collectively dedicated to self-awakening. Studying alchemy, ancient mystical arts and sacred geometry, the band provides a gateway to deep mysteries for those who are asking for the key. While the music is gritty and entrancing, it is deeply soulful and provoking
And let me remind you, provocation is rarely comfortable.
We saw Tool at Red Rocks last night. Though I am prone to drama (Cancer sun and moon!) I can honestly say I experienced a re-birth.
The show was as every true church is meant to be; a mystical event felt on the earth and in the heavens. At Red Rocks with the skyline of Denver, a rising orange moon ablaze with love, and the music, Tool pushed us to go deeper than many of us had gone before.
Maynard opened the show reminding us : "For the next two hours, nothing else matters." For those of us willing to step to the altar of rock and roll, a total transformation awaited.
The show was raw, rhythmic and dirty. The images on the stage were all one had to tap into as vocalist Maynard James Keenan prefers to remain as an instrument rather than at full front stage as a rock god. Staying behind the lights at the back of the stage in the dark, he won't allow us the comfort of conforming to the ways other bands might do it.
Rather than having a singer center stage raking in the glory, Maynard allows drummer Danny Carey to become the focal point. His penetrating vibes awakened full kundlini energy one would have to be dead not to feel. At one point, he beat his drums allowing the full reverb to bounce off the mountains behind us. This was a gift through and through as it allowed every cell to wake up and pay attention.
Though many were stoned or drunk, the awakening was available to any who wanted it. I could feel the blood lighting up through my veins... my body moved in the most unusual of ways to the beat, and I allowed myself to be transformed. Mayan medicine as well as Oriental pulse diagnostics acknowledge truth is in the blood and use it as a primary indicator of wellness.
Each song bled into the other as images of alien/human hybrids played on the screen. Guitarist Adam Jones is responsible for much of the visual presentation and provides the perfect visual compliment to Maynard's primal tones. The images were disturbing-- pushing us to the limits of our comfort zone or even acting as prefab metal gore for others. At times, I had to look away, staring instead into the starry night sky. The evening felt other-worldly, an open cry from the hearts of many to our star families. We are ready, we are here.
The images and music contained hidden elements -- sitar and native american flute in some songs while the fractal images replete with sacred geometry further fueled our activation. We had not only our third eyes opened, but also our hearts pried wide and raw palpable enough for everyone to feel.
Tool is musical shamans and alchemical muses. Nothing is lost on them so they take each show as an opportunity to wake up, prepare, and empower those of us ready to rise and meet them in self mastery. To step into this realm one must be willing to confront the shadow and the darkness. Embrace it, breathe it, live it so all fears can be conquered.
Sound healing is really the only true healing that will effectively release cellular memories and give birth to new ways of being. As we all regenerate our bodies completely within 7 years (see NYT article here on cell regeneration), it is sound healing that allows us to flush the old to invoke the new.
To receive this healing in such a profound delivery system with the magic of the rockies behind us was a gift unlike anything I have every known. Tool delivered a sermon as it was intended by Jesus Christ-- full kundalini activation though every chakra center bringing us to a fully awakened state.
My mother in law rarely talks about my true calling. When she does in a tone of disdain, she pronounces it shame-n with an emphasis on SHAME. As if what I am doing is not only distasteful but something altogether wrong. My brother in law adds that what I do is not from God.
I don't know what god rules the world they live in, but my God is a pretty hip, all-loving, and approachable dude who would never plant shame, fear, or judgment in people's hearts.
Gavin and I go back and forth whether I should balls out embrace my title or whether by taming the word I can reach a wider audience. The definition of shaman on dictionary.com is:
"(esp. among certain tribal peoples) a person who acts as intermediary between the natural and supernatural worlds, using magic to cure illness, foretell the future, control spiritual forces, etc."
This version strips us of our gifts and making us sound like something of nightmares. I have an alternate definition:
A shaman is a sage. A healer who works with the land energies, plant and animal spirits, and sacred deities to affect change on the physical, spiritual, mental and emotional levels of our being.
We offer this work to the world not to profit or to be glorified but because to not answer the calling makes life even more challenging. We are asked to serve our community selflessly and are required to perform the most courageous of acts. True courage is found not in the action but in serving anyway we can.
The only Shame in Shamanism is when one denies what they have been asked by Spirit to be and to do.
Deep shamanic work is among the most healing and powerful energetic modalities on the planet. It has been relied on since time began as the most direct way to heal, treat, or cure any ailment.
Only the initiated may enter these worlds and must know the boundaries and protocol. Even with training and knowledge, character is the most important attribute of any great shaman. In order to enter these sacred Spiritual realms, one must be fearless and confident. Nothing can do us harm but by opening ourselves up when we are vulnerable we can never be sure of what may follow us out.
I won't do shamanic work when I'm feeling weak or even an eensy bit unsure of myself. Instead I enter these realms as a Warrior, trusting my power and knowing I am protected by all times by my Spirit Guides.
We should all have a special something that can remind us of our power. Whether it be a crystal, a friend or a picture, we all must have a little magic that puts us back into the right space to embody our magnificence.

I had a shamanic healing session scheduled over the weekend. I have been eagerly anticipating it for weeks yet as I arrived, I was filled with butterflies. I was nervous and unsure of what to expect. Over the years I had forgotten this feeling of apprehension that often precedes a healing. I sometimes hear it from clients but rarely am on the receiving end.
I had to remind myself:
Nervous energy is often disguised excitement. In approaching a breakthrough, or great change, the energy may feel like nerves when in fact it is the universe revving us up for greatness.
It was indeed one of the most profound and moving healings I have ever received. (Love and gratitude to my sisters Katherine and Denise for this profound gift). There was nothing to be nervous about and I remembered to receive the wisdom they delivered.
When you schedule a session with an intuitive, shaman, or healer and feel these nerves come up, rather than thinking them to be bad vibes or a sign you shouldn't do it, recognize the emotions as a sign of great wonder, great momentum, and a valuable gift. The nerves are confirming that what you are about to receive is 100% real. Change is possible and, in the hands of great healers, ensured.
